DVD Rental

I've just signed up for TESCO DVD Rental. For £7.97 a month they send me DVDs of my choice one after the other.

When I combine this with CLONE DVD, it works out quite cheap to get a copy of good DVDs.

On another note, Studio nightclub is going well and strong. I'm still not working on a Friday night just now, but hopefully that will change this evening. There are a few things in the pipeline.

So,

I started back Dj'ing this weekend after my weeks break. I took up what should be my new Saturday night residency in Glasgow's Studio nightclub (formerly Victoria's) on Sauchiehall street. I can now be found in Studio1 every Saturday night 10:30pm - 3am playing chart, rnb, 70s, 80s, 90s and commercial dance.

I should get conformation of my new Friday night residency by tomorrow, and should finally be kicking off this coming Friday.

Okay dokay so here we go. . . in no particular order then..

I passed my driving test 3 weeks ago on my 3rd attempt.
Enigma decided, or the 19 year olds running it did ;-), that my services there were no longer required.
I'm back at uni and starting my final year.

Anyway, that's about it really. I'm moving back into Glasgow for my DJing and start with Glasgow based JBD. I think my first gig is going to be in one of the Yates's bars in town. I'll get confirmation of the location shortly, but i'm definitely back into it this coming Friday, after passing my audition at Jumpin' Jaks last Thursday. JBD run most of the Glasgow DJ's and i'm looking forward to the change of scenery. Enigma, despite my enthusiasm, had went down hill this last 6 months and was nothing compared to its hey day 2 years ago.

My next post should be some time before the end of the year. ;-)

It's July already and i'm still sitting about the house since finishing my exams, and only working on a Saturday and Sunday.

I have been looking for a full time - during the week - job with little success due to the fact that i'm a fussy bugger about what jobs i'll do. It looks like after next week, in Lloyds, when my probation period finishes, i'll be able to get a bit of OT in there.

On another note, there has been a lack of posts recently predominantly because I can't be arsed doing this . . .

My Exams finished on Thursday. They all seemed to go ok... so, fingers crossed, that's me off uni until September !!

My first assessment call is this evening for Lloyds TSB. If I don't pass it then I'm out on my arse, but I am very confident about it.

That's about it really -got paid by the Co eventually :-)

Enigma Takeover

The Enigma lease was taken over last week. It seems that my job is still safe thanks to the fact that i'm actually quite good at what I do and still pack the place each Saturday and Sunday night ;-)

Still no wages from the co-op. Reading over my last posts, I seem to be ranting about them a bit too much, so rest assured that I will not mention them ever again, other than to wish them every success in their impending closing at the Barrachnie store and subsequent Scottish co-op take over by a proper company.

Exams start (and finish) next week... so i'm away to get back to the studying.

The co-op has, in their wisdom, decided that I should still go without payment for hours worked over one month ago now... Give me my wages, give me my P45 and get to fuck the lot of you... Danka chung !

I was at a work's night out with Année this evening. Sadly, some of our company, when asked earlier in the week if they would like to go up the Maltman on Friday night had a somewhat different idea.

Finally, I sat my mock driving test today. Aside from 2 serious faults and 9 minors, I just about passed. The real thing should be in four weeks time.

I start my new job with Lloyds TSB in just under 9 hours time.

We were at the King's Theatre tonight seeing 42nd street. The performance was ok, but I would have been dissapointed had I paid the full price of the ticket and not used my Vouchers I recieved last year due to my letter of complaint ;-)

The workers in the co-op, at the time of my leaving, all put together and got me leaving presents, including NEXT vouchers, aftershave and a case of Miller. However, I had yet to receive a farewell gift from the Scottish Co-op as a company. That is, until Thursday, when someone somewhere somehow fucked up and consequently did not pay me my final 2 weeks wages.

Thank you Co-op, it seems my motto that has stood me in good stead throughout my 7-and-a-bit years of employment still holds true.

Glasgow Philharmonic Choir

Annee and I are just back from seeing a friend sing in the Glasgow Philharmonic Choir Spring Concert. We had just over 2 hours of the 80-something strong male chorusline plus two special guests. We also paid an impromptu visit to Shenaz.

It was excellent !! . . . I had the mix tikka :-)

FireFox

This is only my second post via email, due to the Blogger main site being down.

So Ally, amongst others, has finally convinced me to download and install Mozilla FireFox.

At first look, it seems ok and not too dissimilar from IE. I suppose the tabbed browsing is a better feature. Its lack of Active X support currently lets it down, especially as I use Egg's Money Manager Password Safe to access all 6 of my online banking accounts at the one time.

FireFox is also meant to process HTML and the like much faster than IE, however I've yet to notice it during my limited use of it.

As it stands I remain unconvinced : Both browsers, i'm sure, will remain installed for some time to come.

Thanks to Ally - who also has a WeBlog/ Web site which can be found HERE, I have managed to get rid of the eblogger NavBar at the top of the window. I don't mind people knowing this site is powered by EBlogger but the nav bar did look shit because it created a side scroll at the bottom of the page.

I don't know what's happened to my hit counter. Statscounter - the website that hosts it, is not showing any images on their website which is probably why the small button is not showing here. They are still logging my hits but... something is not right :-(

Annnnnnnnnnnyway... 2 days left of the co-op - a whole 6 hours then i'm finished :-)

Bye Bye Co-op

This time next week I will no longer be an employee of the Co-op. After 7 and a bit long years I am finally leaving :-) Even though i've not enjoyed it for a while now, I suppose in some ways it will still be sad: the end of an era.

Anyway, that aside, Année and I are off to Liverpool next weekend, which was our Christmas present to each other.

*** I still do not have new glasses - but SpecSavers are on the case.

One look at the date of last Friday's post should explain all.

We're All Off To Sunny Spain

After 3 months of long, hard thinking, Année and I have finally decided to take the plunge and accept the job offer in Spain.

All being well, in 6 months time, the whole family should be living out in Tenerife, helping to run a 25 room, 2 Star Hotel, with a view to managing it on our own next year.

Leaving uni early wasn't an easy decision, but short of immediate family, quite simply, there is nothing to keep us here.

There's a place that keeps on calling me

For over 3 years I struggled to find a gig where I could try and establish a reputation for credible music.

In late 2002 I started in Enigma and enjoyed playing credible 'funky house' music each Saturday night, and the place has grown from strength to strength.

3 years later, in 2005, my residency is still going strong. Tonight, Easter Sunday, on my 'Cheezy Pop' night, I played the 'Littlest Hobo Theme' as my second last song, and i've never seen a song go down so well... I give up !!
